Winery and Vineyard Vaderiz’s beginning, as any other great vineyard project, is founded on great care in the vineyard itself. In 1980, Tomás Esteban decided to continue with his family tradition and dedicated his life to wine making.

Valderiz
20 months in the barrel
Our winery’s emblem, which represents all our identity, the know-how, all our years of experience and our love of the terroir. This wine also receives the most praise from international specialized tasters.
Variety
95% Tinta del País, 5% Albillo Mayor.
Origen
La Loma, Manvirgo, Juegabolos, El Carril and La Ladera. Sandy loam soils, clay, pebble, limestone and sand in some areas.
Yield
4.000 kg/Ha.
Vinification
Spontaneous fermentation in 8.000 kg concrete deposits. Malolactic fermentation 50% cask 50% concrete.
Ageing
20 months in 225L casks. 80% French oak, 20% American oak. 50% new, 50% once used.
Over 100
hectares of vineyard
Nowadays, Valderiz owns over 100 hectares of vineyards with a Certificate of Ecologic Viticulture. 90 Ha. were planted by Tomás Esteban, and 10 Ha. Were those he had kept from his father.
Philosophy
& Winery
The winery is designed to be efficient at every level: water waste is minimized, and energetic self-sustainability is achieved thanks to the solar panels installed on the roof.
